What is UniDesk?

UniDesk is an ITIL based service management solution for Further and Higher Education. UniDesk is available as a web based shared service with SSO. The service includes:

  • A Service Desk using TOPdesk software
  • Self service incident logging and knowledge management
  • Integrated ITIL compliant Incident, Problem, Change and Release processes
  • Configuration Management and Service Level reporting

Introducing Our 10th UniDesk Member

We are delighted to announce that Royal College of Art has become the 10th member to join our UniDesk family.

The Royal College of Art (or RCA) is one of the world’s leading postgraduate Art & Design universities. It has over 2800 students and 960 staff, split across three campuses in Kensington, Battersea and White City all in London.

They are moving to UniDesk to bring:

  • A more formal ITIL-based structure

  • A more robust tool to support their growth of students, staff along with the development of new campuses

  • Different teams including Technical Services, Building and Estates and Finance who all want to adopt the new tool

  • Greater reporting capabilities to ensure they are measuring their service correctly

RCA were attracted to UniDesk as we have a wealth of education-based experience and our members can share experiences with other institutions rather than having to build from the ground up.

The project is on-board RCA is well underway and we are looking forward to working with them in the near future.

The Partners

UniDesk has been developed in partnership by Abertay, Edinburgh and St Andrews Universities. St Andrews and Edinburgh have worked together on call management provision for over 10 years. The partnership shares the cost of the service and directs service strategy and development and offers the service to members. Costs are reasonable and transparently based on institutional size. Furthermore, UniDesk can help simplify procurement.
